STEREOTYPES WORKSHOP
This workshop is offered to organisations of Catalan women and women of other nationalities. It aims at questioning the stereotypes that we may have formed about each other, at allowing mutual understanding and at discovering the tasks and challenges that we all face going forward. We have done workshops with Dones de Collblanc, Don e s de Bellvitge, Don e s diverses, Don e s del Gornal, Asociación de Mujeres Latinas Sin Fronteras, Fundació Surt, Asociación Helia and Done s de l Centre L’Hospitalet.
PREVENTION OF GENDER BASED VIOLENCE
In addition to psychological care and legal advice services, a course is given once a year to train “community promoters against gender-based violence.” This year we are also going to form a group of volunteers trained and prepared to accompany female victims of gender violence through its different phases. Besides the Association takes part in the Plataforma Contra les Violències de Gènere in Catalonia.
POLITICAL ACTIVITY
At Mujeres Pa’lante we also promote actions to defend the rights of migrants in the public sphere. On several occasions we have put forward motions before the municipalities of Barcelona and L’Hospitalet to denounce government practices that went against the rights of migrants. We participate in anti-discrimination campaigns with SOS Racisme and, in particular, in the campaign against the existence of the CIE s (‘Centro de Internamiento de Extranjeros’ - Immigration detention or Internment Centre for Undocumented Foreigners).
WORK FOR THE DEFENCE OF THE RIGHTS OF DOMESTIC WORKERS
Mujeres Pa’lante coordinates with Sindihogar, the Libelulas group, the Kellys group and the Platform to defend the rights of domestic workers. This platform is working on advocacy both in the Barcelona City Council and at the regional level of Catalonia, seeking to bring about new measures in the labour regulation of domestic workers and caregivers.
DANCE WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN AND THEATRE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Every Thursday we have a space for children between 4 and 11 years old. Last semester they were offered a dance workshop to reinforce their self-esteem and to counter the sometimes distressing effects of the migratory processes.
Also, our group of women engaged in theatre has provided theatre workshops on gender and coexistence in the Margarita Xirgu school.

As a part of the effort to create women organisations that defend our rights and interests, Cooperativa Mujeres Pa’lante was created to guarantee the rights of migrant women to obtain a decent job, with acceptable working conditions and to ensure respect for women as workers and citizens of Catalonia.
